On October 12, 2012, Avery Knapper of Bay of Quinte, Ontario, was fishing with charter captain Dave Curtis when he boated and released his second musky ever, a 57 ¾-inch monster that carried a 25 ¾-inch girth. “It was not the huge girth we would see in December, but still a giant,” said Curtis.
Avery’s fish struck a 10-inch jailbird colored Believer that had been given to Curtis by his late friend, Russ Skinner. “This was the first musky to hit it after hundreds of miles of trolling,” Curtis noted. They were trolling along hard “It swam right into the net with the current, but then we berserk and got out of the net and I managed to net it a second time,” Curitis Laughed
